BlueAI sets five cookies in total. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no pixels from other companies. This is the complete list.
| Name | Category | What it does | Lifetime | Parties |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __Host-blueai_session | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in. It holds a random session token — never your password or your encryption key — and it is httpOnly, so no script running in your browser can read it. | Up to a year, extended each time you visit; stopped after 90 days without use, or when you log out | BlueAI only |
| blueai_consent | Strictly necessary | Your answer to the cookie banner itself: which optional things you allowed, and when you were last asked. | 12 months | BlueAI only |
| blueai_lang | Strictly necessary | The interface language you picked, so the first page the server sends you arrives in it. A language code and nothing else. | 12 months | BlueAI only |
| blueai_discover_id | Functional | An anonymous id that ties the reading topics you chose in Discover to this device, so the feed can put them first next time. Also httpOnly. | 12 months | BlueAI only |
| blueai_bots | Functional | Whether you asked to see the ordinary chat rather than the bots surface when the homepage opens. | 30 days | BlueAI only |
Kept in the browser, but not cookies
A few preferences live in local storage instead, so they never travel with a request the way a cookie does: the conversation you were last reading (blueai.lastThread), a draft you had started typing, the dictation language and the read-aloud voice you chose (blueai.dictationLang, blueai.readAloudVoice), and which notices you have already dismissed. They stay on this device until you clear your browser storage, and none of them travels with a request by itself.
Three of the cookies above keep the site working at all and cannot be switched off without losing the thing they do; the other two remember a choice you made rather than something the site needs. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie and no third-party cookie on this site, because we do not sell or share your data with anyone.

Frequently asked questions
One place to ask a question and get an answer you can check. It reads the web and whatever you attach, then answers with the sources sitting next to it.
Your conversations are encrypted in this browser before they leave it. We keep what we cannot read, which is a design constraint rather than a promise.
600 messages a month, 5 deep research runs and 12 long documents. Enough to decide whether this belongs in your week.
10,500 messages, 36 research runs, 360 long documents and a memory 120 turns deep, so a long thread stays coherent.
Yes. The interface is translated into 51 languages, and the ones written right to left are laid out that way rather than mirrored badly.
Nothing runs out quietly. The counter sits in the chat while you use it, and a plan change takes effect on the next question.
